MOLINA’S FINE JEWELERS & JAZZ DAY AZ FOUNDATION PRESENTS 10TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY...

  • Scottsdale (April 30th, 2021) –Jazz Guitarist Mark Whitfield takes the stage along with his trio, for International Jazz Day. He’s coming to help Arizona to celebrate UNESCO and Herbie Hancock International Jazz Day with Doc Jones and his foundation. Mark Whitfield has played with the likes of George Benson, Quincy Jones, and George Duke just to name a few.

     This extraordinary guitarist will be headlining the lineup of international known Ms. Nayo Jones and billboard artist Neamen Lyles performing at the Hotel Valley Ho. The VIP outdoor event is taking place on Friday, April 30th, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Presented by the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation and Molina Fine Jewelers, the Scottsdale Jazz Festival 2021 will be celebrating Jazz Day, and joins events taking place in more than 190 countries as part of UNESCO’s annual International Jazz Day celebration.  “We are proud to be participating and connecting the City of Scottsdale to this important global celebration,” said Scottsdale Mayor Ortega. “Jazz truly is a unifying art form that appeals to residents of Arizona, and tourists who travel to Scottsdale from afar.”  

    Scottsdale Jazz Festival 2021 features hours of music that is a blend of salsa, smooth jazz, soul and Latin American grooves performed by a lineup that also includes New Orleans jazz vocalist Nayo Jones, (world series anthem player) Jesse McGuire and Bill Board artist Neamen Lyle, and a few special guest performances. Festival attendees are encouraged come hungry. Reserved seats, which include dinner and a gift bags, are available near the stage for jazz fans making donations of $150.00. Proceeds benefit the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation afterschool music program, and jazztownusa.com Affordable Housing for Jazz & Blues musicians.  Since 2013, the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation has been uniting Arizona around International Jazz Day, and producing festivals that are Real Jazz for the public to enjoy with the support of generous sponsors and donors. Past festivals have featured world-renowned jazz artists such as Emmet Cohen, Azar Lawrence, Nicolas Payton, Dr. Jesse McGuire, Carlos Rivas e Mexsal, and Kermit Ruffins Nayo Jones Tony Monaco just to name a few.
