  • Mesa Arts Center joins more than 196 global Jazz Day celebrations in April, officially designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as Jazz Appreciation Month. The festival celebrates jazz and the role it plays in uniting people around the world.


     World-renowned alto saxophone player Donald Harrison headlines this year’s International jazz Day Festival. Big Chief Donald Harrison is one of the best alto players in the world and known as the “The King of Nouveau Swing”. Harrison created “Nouveau Swing”, a style off jazz that merges it with modern dance music like R&B, Hip Hop, Soul and Rock.


    SPECIAL GUEST BILLBOARD ARTIST  Keyboard player Bernard Wright is an American funk and jazz keyboardist and singer who began his career as a session musician and later released four solo albums. He is the son of singer Roberta Flack and known for his hit single Who Do You Love
