Fred Boswell JR was one of the finalist in Guitar Center’s 28th Annual Drum-Off Finals

Fred Boswell Jr. from Avondale, AZ (originally from Milwaukee, WI) – check out his performance from our 28th Annual Drum-Off Finals that took place on January 14, 2017 at The Novo in Los Angeles. Fred played on a 5-piece Tama Star Walnut kit in Atomic Orange with Evans EC2 on the toms, and their EMAD on the kick, (Fred used his own snare) along with Meinl Byzance cymbals: 14″ hats, 16″ crash, 18″ crash, 20″ ride, 10″ splash, and an 18″ china. Blast block, cowbell, and tambourine are from Latin Percussion.

Guitar Center’s 28th Annual Drum-Off Finals was the drum event of the year.Saturday, Jan. 14 [7pm at The Novo DTLA] had exclusive musical performances by renowned drummers and a special ceremony honoring John “Jabo” Starks and Clyde Stubblefield’s legendary career with an induction into Guitar Center’s #RockWalk.

Five finalists (Fred Boswell Jr was one on them) will perform live to compete for the winning title in front of a panel of celebrity judges and an audience full of fans and industry professionals. Between the host, performers, judges and RockWalk Inductees the event is one of drumming’s most celebrated events and brings together masters of the craft.
