It’s October, so there’s no better time to hold a Soul Music Serenade fest. The 1st Soul Music celebration has come to Phoenix Arizona. It was held on the property of the Steele Indian Park on Central just North of Indian School.
It was one days of “Real Soul Music” East coast Style, food and great people, and they plan on coming back next year.
They’re putting the festival in October. Aubrey Morris, William Doc Jones managing member of the Soul Fest Host Committee, of Soulfest, says the park was available and perfect.
“So we decided we needed to do something for the community and the lover of Real Soul Music instead of just letting October leave out without us taking advantage of this great weather. Next year we run the Soul Fest during the first week in November after the annual State Fair,” Morris, and have less local artists so we can allow the national acts more stage time.
So they gathered a few people who could do some Soul cooking and offered three Grammy award winning Artist for those who wanted some Real Soul Music. So we called on Willie Clayton, the Floaters, and Fel Davis from Public Announcement, got the best local acts in AZ and it was “Game On” said Doc Jones and Aubrey Morris.
