City Issues Reminders in Advance of 2016 5th Annual Phx Jazz day Festival at CityScape/Press Conference

Phoenix AZ – With the 2016 Phoenix International Jazz day Festival set to go down at the CityScape on Saturday, April 30, 4:00PM to 10:00PM, the Press Conference on Tuesday, April 5th at Noon CityScape serves as a reminder to the public about the Festival. International Jazz Day is the day that was declared by UNESCO (an arm of the United Nations) to be celebrated annually around the world as the United States original creative gift to the world. At last calculation 196 countries throughout the world have committed to celebrating Jazz on April 30th. UNESCO, Herbie Hancock, its Ambassador and Phoenix, Arizona will be participating in the celebration, here in Phoenix 2016 for the 5th consecutive year, thanks to its Producer Doc Jones. 2016 will be the first year to date the festival date April 30th falls on a weekend, with that, we are encouraging you to turn out in numbers. Those who love and enjoy Real Jazz, your public support is needed and appreciated in order to keep the Jazz scene going. With your help and support Doc Jones, Lalo Gonzalez and their International Jazz Day AZ Foundation will be able to continue their efforts to that end.
“Celebrating its 5th year, the Phoenix International Jazz Day celebration, is one of the numbered Real Jazz festival experiences in our city. In 2015, Mayor Greg Stanton stated in a PSA, “Phoenix International Jazz day at CityScape has attracted thousands of Real Jazz Lovers to the downtown area for the past 3years and is only getting bigger and better.” This year, we encourage all residents and visitors to best enjoy the festival by making plans before heading downtown to safely park their vehicles and catch the light rail to relax and relish in a full day of live music, good food, and participate in the multi-culture, that makes up our City. As in previous years, City enforcement officials will be on site to ensure that all vendors are in compliance with City ordinances. Our goal is to make vendors, business owners and non-profit managers aware of the rules and regulations, and to eliminate confusion in advance.”
